Losing Weight Is Not So Hard As You Might Think….

there are just some things you should know..

I deliberately say weight loss is easy but of course that’s not entirely true.

Losing weight is hard and at times seems to be impossible. But in fact it does not have to be that hard.

How can you say it’s easy?

Well, that’s just to get my point across. But I do have a point. Bear with me here.

I will tell you what THE most important factor, the one and only thing that really matters if you want to lose weight and keep it off is.

It may not be what you think. It’s not exercising more. It’s not taking the right diet pills (although some pills certainly can give you a headstart). It’s something else..

The key to effective weight loss lies in being aware of our totally toxic modern diet. The stuff we eat day in day out has nothing to do with real food anymore.

Effective weight loss involves changing your mindset. For starters, you have to realize that..

…most of the food we can buy in grocery stores, fast food chains, food trucks, and many other venues is full of artificial flavors, conservatives, overly processed ingredients, and worse of all, sugar.

We could exercise more but even if you do so you will find that you won’t lose weight. Heck, you can keep buying supplements that are recommended by the best experts and still not be able to shed those dreaded pounds.

Again, the crux here, is the stuff we eat. Once you are shifting to a more normal, more natural, sensible diet you will find that you are able to achieve your weight loss goals.

Still, exercising, or at least burning calories is essential. And some diet pills can also make a difference.

So how to do this?

Well first of all acknowledge that your diet is wrong. You are very likely to eat about 5 slices of bread each day. You will  probably eat pasta, rice, or potatoes for dinner. You can keep eating all of these, because they are taste, I agree. But you should eat less of them.

Let me give you an example.

I used to eat 4 slices of bread at lunch. Sometimes with eggs or cheese but what’s on it doesn’t really matter that much. What I do now is I take a cup of nuts and a big handful of carrots. That’s my lunch. And it’s satisfying. Starving yourself is never a good idea. I eat unsalted mixed nuts and add some salted cashews. (yes I hear you think, cashews are really fatty, yup they are but the will fill you up)

Which brings me to the next topic.

If you start changing your diet by replacing bread with nuts and veggies you will notice that you are full longer. Bread does fill you up for only a short while. And what do you do then? Eat some more bread right?

Another crucial element of losing weight

..is the realization that food does not have to be tasty all the time. Eating is mainly about providing yourself with energy.

Don’t get me wrong. I love food. I love to cook. I love to eat new things. But not everything I eat has to taste really good. During the past decades we have shifted to an attitude and lifestyle that assumes that eating has to be fun. It does not. At least not all the time.

The big nutritonal corporations have anticipated (or maybe caused but that’s another discussion) on this hedonistic attitude by making making food more flavorful and less nutritional.

That’s why it’s recommended to start eating less processed foods. If you do you will appreciate the taste of foods you now probably don’t like at all. But after a while, and this will happen sooner than you may think, you might eat that cookie or those chips and notice, yikes those are way too sweet, salty, or spiced up with artificial flavors.

Then may realize have been a slave of the nutritional companies. An addict to artifical flavors that make you sick and keep you wanting more.  Instead you are know starting to eat as a sensible, critically thinking human being again.

Talking about being a slave.

It’s not only the stuff that is shuffed in our faces. Literally by advertisements and the totally outrageous low quality of food we are presented with in stores and lots of restaurants.

Many of us are a slave of our own thoughts and desires too. Which links to the other main aspect of obesity. Most of us eat unhealthy and or too much because of emotions.
