Dr. Oz Recommends Meratrim, A Review and Studies, Does It Really Work?

In one of Doctor Oz’s recent TV Shows he shared a really useful weight loss tip. In the Feb. 10 episode titled “Triple Your Fat Loss” de renowned TV doctor came with some groundbreaking news.

Dr. Oz:

“This program works faster than ever,”

Following his latests insights he composed a weight-loss program that works in three ways:

  • blocks fat storage,
  • burns fat after meals,
  • and activates your body’s fat-fighting furnace.

Dr. Oz also added:

“You start to see the results in just two weeks.”

So how does the new weight loss plan work?

Dr. Oz’s most recent diet consists of three actions:

  1. Double your protein intake to burn more calories.
  2. Take the Meratrim fat-blocking supplement.
  3. Drink pomegranate vinegar after meals to flush fat.

 

1. Eating more protein will automatically help you lose weight.

That’s what all experts agree on. When you eat more protein, for example eggs at breakfast, you feel full longer and eat less during the day.

  • In one study, a group of 30 test persons ended up eating fewer calories. Not only at lunch, but also during the other meals that day. The effect was even more powerful, this  may sound unbelievable but it’s demonstrated in this PubMed study, the women ate less calories during the following 36 hours.
  • In another study, one group of test persons ate eggs, the others bagels during their diet. Two months later the people eating eggs had achieved 65% more weight loss (2 lbs vs 1.3 lbs).

Next to calorie restriction, eating more protein will also boost how much calories you burn.

Doctor Oz recommends in his Triple-Your-Fat-Loss plan to double your protein intake at every meal.

By replacing the carbs in your daily meal with protein your body will burn a lot more calories.

2. Meratrim fat-blocking supplement

What’s so special about Meratrim? And what actually is in this weight loss pill?

Dr Oz: Eat Your Body Fat Away With Healthy Fats and the FBCx Supplement

Of course the magic diet pill still hasn’t been found. And it will probably take a while before that will happen. If ever.

But when you combine eating wisely and exercising with the right supplements you can definitely lose weight.

What is Yacon syrup?

Yacon syrup is a pure extract of the root crop Yacon. Scientifically known as Polymnia Sonchifolia, this plant thrives in the mountainous regions of the Andes or parts of South America, Southern Australia, New Zealand, and East Asia. Dr Oz Recommended Probiotics for Weight Loss

A while ago Dr. Oz enlightened his viewers and readers about how to be smart at buying supplements. In a cooperation with ConsumerLab.com’s unbiased tests he showed what to look for when buying dietary supplements such as ginseng, valerian, St John’s worth, and probiotics.

Because probiotics are part of a well-designed weight loss strategy we will focus on these beneficial gut bacteria here.

How do probiotics aid weight loss?

Probiotics are known to regulate digestion but what exactly is the link between healthy gut bacteria (probiotics) and a flat belly?

Most, if not all, research concludes that an optimal balance in intestinal bacteria is beneficial to our health in numerous ways.

Fact is also that most of us, not only overweight people have an imbalanced gut flora. This may lead to all kinds of health problems. One of those is impeding losing weight.

How too much bad gut bacteria interfere with weight loss

Obese people often have more bad bacteria in their intestines.  Too much unhealthy bacteria in your gut may lead to all kinds of symptoms including fatigue, nausea, gas and bloating, sugar cravings, and diarrhea or constipation.

Be very cautious in choosing a brand. Many manufacturers sell inferior probiotics as turns out by the Dr. Oz and ConsumerLab tests.

Of the 13 products we tested, more than half of the products did not contain the labeled amount of probiotics, and one contained as little as 7% of its listed amount.

…as we age, the levels of DHEA and its byproduct 7-Keto drop – this begins to happen after you turn 30 – slowing your metabolism and resulting in weight gain. 7-Keto works to counter this by stimulating the thyroid to permanently raise your metabolism’s set point, or your resting metabolic rate, which is based on your body’s amount of fat and muscle. A lower metabolism means more fat, and a higher metabolism means more muscle. Once 7-Keto raises your metabolic set point, your body’s engines can begin burning faster, resulting in less weight gain and a trimmer belly, especially when combined with diet and exercise.

Clinical Studies on 7-Keto for Weight Loss

When Dr. Oz says it works there must be studies and other clinical evidence backing his statements. So I did some research. I found out that there are at least two independent studies confirming Dr. Oz’s statements about 7-keto for weight loss.

One study published in the July 7, 2000 edition of Current Therapeutic Research was conducted to study the effects of 7-KETO on healthy overweight adults. The 30 participants were divided into two groups; one of which was given 7-KETO and the other a placebo over an 8-week period. The participants were restricted to a dietary intake of 1,800 calories per day, and participated in 60 minutes of aerobic and anaerobic exercise three time per week throughout the trial.

The results of this study showed that the group that was given 7-KETO lost significantly more weight than the control group did. No adverse effects were noted in the group taking this supplement. This trial concluded that using 7-KETO in a weight loss program that includes reduced caloric intake and exercise leads to more effective weight reduction than programs involving reduced dietary intake and exercise alone (Kalman, Douglas S., et al., July 7, 2000).

Another study published in the April, 2002 edition of Current Therapeutic Research also explored the potential of 7-KETO as a weight-loss product. A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial was conducted where overweight adults were given 7-Keto or a placebo of maltodextrin. Participants followed a calorie-restricted diet and an exercise program for 8 weeks. During this study, body weight, body composition, and basic metabolic rate were measured after four weeks and eight weeks. A thyroid panel was also done after the eighth week.

Thirty-three out of 35 participants completed the study. This study also concluded that intake of 7-KETO, along with reduced caloric intake and exercise was more effective at reducing weight than reduced dietary intake and exercise alone .(Zenk, John L. MD, et al., April, 2002).

Some studies have assumed that DHEA might assist with things such as improving sexual energy, reducing memory loss, and treating diseases like cancer, diabetes, and Alzheimer’s disease. However, none of these claims has been demonstrated in humans.
